b'Scugog Island HISTORYDue to the success of the last Scugog Island Community Associationmeeting,organizerCharlotteHalehasan-nounced another meeting that will focus on the Islands history. On Thursday September 19 at 6:30 p.m. local historian and author, Paul Arculus will return to continue his pres-entation on the history of Scugog Island.This time, his talk will focus on the Islands early settlers. He is urging those who plan to come, to bring along their own family histories to share details of the communitys past. Charlotte Hale commented, Due to the success of the last speaking event about the history of the early settlers on the Island, this follow up event will dig deeper into the families stories and the characters that were an integral part of that time in the cultural history of the island. Paul will be bringing photographs and maps of the Islands early settlement, as well as early documents such as copies of the Scugog Island Census from 1851 and 1861. This is the first in the fall 2019 Speaker Series to be held at the Island Hall. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and thepresentationwillformallygetunderwayat7p.m. Everyone is welcome.
