Her interest in Black History has deep roots. Her first museum job was at Wilberforce House the birthplace of abolitionist William Wilberforce. Since then she has worked in a number of museums in the UK and Canada. In 2011 Dawson was appointed as Ontario Research Coordinator for the UNESCO Itineraries of Memory Project which gathered information regarding Ontarios role in slavery and the Underground Railroad. Dawson is a popular speaker on Ontario African Canadian History. We are pleased to wel- come her for the first time to our Sunday Speaker Series.
