FOCUS - JUNE 2017 19 After ten years of hoping, networking and planning, a residential hospice has finally come to fruition. The hard working men and women of the hospice board and the generosity of major donors Kevin Morgan and David Sidhu, along with the cooperation and enthu- siasm of the Township of Scugog and the Durham District Catholic School Board, the Oak Ridges Hospice Board is delighted to now have a permanent site for our hospice residence. The location is the Immaculate Conception Catholic School property located at 1722 Scugog St. in Port Perry. After years of hard work, now the fun (and hard work) really begins. The committee will have working groups tackling the planning for building design, operations, clinical care, communications, community engagement and other key areas. Anyone wishing to contribute skills and enthusiasm to the project is welcome. These are very exciting times and if you can contribute or would like more information, email info@oakridgeshospice.com or check out our website www.oakridgeshospice.com Oak Ridges HOspice has finally found a home in Port Perry OUR MISSION: to bring hope and comfort to the community through compassionate support and end-of-life care.
