Here’s your chance to create unforgettable memories, surrounded by the sights and sounds of Canada’s waterways. To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, the 2017 Seasonal Lockage Permit is free! It allows passage through lock systems on all of Parks Canada’s national historic canals throughout the entire 2017 navigation season. In Quebec: • Carillon Canal National Historic Site • Chambly Canal National Historic Site • Lachine Canal National Historic Site • Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site • Saint-Ours Canal National Historic Site In Ontario: • Rideau Canal National Historic Site • Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site Note: St. Peter’s Canal (Nova Scotia) and Sault Ste. Marie Canal (Ontario) national historic sites do not require a lockage permit for recreational vessels. For our Canada 150 celebrations we are featuring our popular Children’s ArtScene. Draw, paint and create with new art opportunities for kids of all ages. With our focus on art activities for the whole family we will have Theatre 3x60 presenting theatre games and dress up! Music and writing will round out the arts happenings at the SCA tents! We hope to see you there. In October the SCA is pleased to present a special Canada150 Exhibit in the Gallery from October 7 through 28. Interpretations will feature original work by three local SCA member arts groups. Twenty-four works will be on exhibit starting with eight pho- tography submissions by the Port Perry Photographic Society, then variations of these submissions by the Port Perry Artists Association and the Port Perry Patchers Quilt Guild. The resulting eight sets of multimedia work, or triptychs, by 24 participating local artists will celebrate Canada through a truly unique and varied show and sale of original art.
