Friday November 17 was a great night and a record breaking 1100 plus people gathered in Palmer Park for the annual BIA sponsored Candlelight Walk and Christmas Tree Lighting. This year several trees in the park were lit as well as the gazebo, creating a very bright atmosphere in the midst of a cold, dark night. Erin O’Toole kicked off the festivities, joined by the esteemed United Church Choir, who sang Christmas carols and holiday songs to the delight of the crowd. Local band “Claidhmor” then picked up the microphones and led the crowd down Queen Street to the official Scugog Christmas tree located at the municipal building. After the lighting of the tree, people caroled their way back to Palmer Park for socializing and to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. PHOTOS COURTESY OF RON PRESTAGE, LUXE PHOTO STUDIO
