The Sonosite Portable Ultrasound for our Emergency department will replace a small-screened end-of-life portable unit. If you think of the quality of image on todays phone cameras versus ten years ago, youll have some idea of the di erence this new ultrasound will make in bedside imaging quality. One critical use of this new portable ultrasound will be for trauma patients, something that is surprisingly preva-lent in rural healthcare like ours. Clear ultrasound images can now be taken without moving the patient, all while others work to provide other life-saving care. Faster as-sessment and diagnosis means faster treatment, and this equipment will help us achieve that. The planning and implementation of the CT scanner at Port Perry Hospital has been moving forward. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have experienced some delays in this process, but as I write this, things are well in process once more.Unit Coordinator Kristy Pedder stopped by the foundation of ce on her way to Emergency with the brand new Sonosite Portable Currently, all Port Perry Hospital patients who need aUltrasound, made possible as part of the Here for You campaign.CT scan are transferred to another hospital for their scan before treatment can begin.
