The Port Perry Legion building was originally built to cater to men only. In fact, the building initially did not even have a womens washroom.Today the Port Perry LA President is Wendy Norton. She leads a team involved year-round in a wide variety of activities. Wendy recalls her own connection with the war. My mother sewed parachutes during the war. One day the needle of the sewing machine went right through her finger.
