In order to make ends meet at home, young Marvin was involved in income generating activities such as selling snacks. His mother made a living by selling dried fish and sweeping the streets. But there was never enough to pay for school fees or have regular meals. After being identified by the Watoto Neighbourhood program, The Watoto Child Care Ministries took Marvin under their wing. Now he is able to receive a free educa-tion and medical support. Marvin was overjoyed by this opportunity, and he is doing well in Grade 2 at the Watoto School. When asked what he would like to be when he grows up, his reply, a lawyer!Marvin describes a good friend as helpful and hard-working. He willingly helps with chores such as fetching water, and he loves playing football in his spare time. Beef and rice is his favourite meal. Marvin sings praises to God every Sunday at his local church, and his favourite Bible story is Noahs Ark.FOCUS - JUNE 20233'
