FOCUS - MAY 2018 35 The Telus Motorcycle Ride for Dad invites everyone to get your motors running on Saturday June 9. All monies raised go towards Prostate Cancer Research Awareness. This day promised to be fun-filled and includes breakfast, prizes, lunch, poker run and a scenic ride. There will be a gift for the first 250 riders! Pre-registration is Friday June 8 from 5 - 8 p.m. or Saturday morning from 7:30- 9:30 a.m. at the Scugog Recreation Centre, Pad 1 west side, 1655 Reach St., Port Perry. The opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. and kickstands up at 10 a.m. sharp. The annual Rotary Gala was held on April 21 at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club and once again, it truly was a gala! A silent and live auction with an array of splendid items to bid on. Also, raffles galore; a vintage wine raffle, basket raffle, pyramid of beer raffle and a diamond pendant raffle! The dinner was superb and the Rotary is appreciative of all the sup- port received, as all money raised goes towards fulfilling their $150,000 commitment to the new Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham.
