FOCUS - JUNE 2019 5 They look forward to their daugh- ter Michelle (a teacher who owns a school in Switzerland) visiting along with her family for five weeks this summer, spending more time with Cam, and their hairstylist daughter Ashley, and her children. Paul hasn’t had time in three years to fly the airplane he bought 40 years ago. Despite a couple of scares in the air, such as the time he was fly- ing over Seagrave and the cockpit filled with smoke due to an oil leak, Paul still loves to fly. Going to see his brother Dale, a commercial pilot, is on the radar. Port Perry folks have been good to the Flielers. Paul was still living in Ajax when he first took over the garage. He fondly recalls the kind- ness of the Sweetman family across the street, which insisted that he stay with them instead of driving home during a major blizzard. It goes both ways. More than once, local kids on bicycles showed up with scraped knees. Paul knew that, “Ice cream would fix them up right away.” His granddaughter and her friends often stop by after school for a treat. Paul and Gisele won’t be strangers to their hometown. For 32 years, they have enjoyed living in the Harbour Castle neighbourhood. If you see them on the street, don’t forget to honk your horn! Flieler North End Service (Ultramar) on May 9, 2019.
