FOCUS - JULY 2018 9 NATURAL HEALTH ASSOCIATES 126 - 2 Water Street Port Perry 905-985-8591 Dr. John Tompkin Chiropractor Our services are covered by most extended health care benefits. Chiropractic, Foot Pain Therapy, Orthotic Therapy 1) ASSESSMENT Dr. Tompkin usually starts his foot examination as you walk in the room, looking for asymmetry. A physical exam of the feet and lower limbs can help reveal the cause of your pain and dysfunction, while a digital gaitscan can measure timing and pressure data as you walk. Dr. Tompkin then explains his findings so you have a clear understanding of your foot problem. 2) TREATMENT Treatment can consist of impulse and manual adjusting, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy as well as modalities to reduce inflammation. These are the same principles used in the treatment of spinal disfunction. 3) SUPPORT This includes orthotic support, shoe recommendations and in many cases, maintenance treatments to the foot ankle complex. The orthotics can be manufactured with the gaitscan data allowing both flexibility and rigidity to help correct your gait. PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD! FOOT PAIN Is it Affecting your Life? Locally, the Rotary Club of Port Perry has contributed $150,000 toward the recent hospital expansion, partly raised through our 2016 event. The proceeds of this year’s events will help with the Rotary Club’s pledge to the new residential hospice planed for Port Perry. Internationally, we support an orphanage in India, along with other Durham Region rotary clubs. We continue to support the inoculation of vulnerable children against the polio virus. We contribute support and funds toward literacy on a local, national and international level. We participate and support a very important student exchange program through Rotary International. This inclusive program encourages interaction among young people from different countries and walks of life, to better understand cultural and social differences. The ultimate goal is world peace.
