Lake Scugog Historical Society is pleased to announce that it has arranged for Dave Mowat to give a presenta- tion on the history of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN). DaveMowatistheCommunityConsultationSpecialist for the MSIFN. He has been an Economic Development Officer with the Alderville First Nation as well a researcher in Aboriginal and Treaty Rights. In addition, he has been involved in First Nations Treaty negotiations and is a recognized authority on the history of the MSIFN. Dave will give his presentation at the regular meet- ing of the Lake Scugog Historical Society on the evening of Wednesday October 18. This will take place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church on Queen St. in Port Perry. The meeting gets underway at 7:30 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
