Tobin THE SLEEP COACH WHAT IS KEEPING YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT? 905-441-0198 Catherine@EFTsleepcoach.com www.EFTSleepCoach.com Rest assured, there is a solution. Camp Scugog, a summer camp for children, youth and mothers affected by poverty will be receiving a huge boost in program supplies this summer from Canadian Tire Jumpstart and Terry Leitch, owner of the Canadian Tire Store in Port Perry. Nestled on the shores of Lake Scugog near Nestleton, Camp Scugog has offered incredible programming to those in need since 1931. Many campers come from shelters, foster care, or from families where finances are stretched thin, and parents have to work two or more jobs to pay the bills. Either way, camp serves as an escape and gives kids an opportunity to just be kids. The benefits of camp are varied and well understood. At camp, children, teens and moms get a well-deserved respite from the city. They are given a fun filled week bursting with new adventures, experiences and friend- ships. They are placed firmly in an environment that encourages learning and growth. Campers gain self-con- fidence, independence, emotional intelligence, environ- mental awareness and leadership skills to last a lifetime. Jumpstart and Terry Leitch believe in the power and possibility of camp, which is why they have donated an incredible $18,000 to upgrade program supplies for summer 2017. New bikes and paddleboats are among the items being donated to help bring smiles to kids this summer. All 300 campers need financial assistance to attend, which is why Port Perry Canadian Tire is excited to part- ner with Camp Scugog in their annual “Go Scugog” Bike Ride. The fundraiser that boasts 30km, 60km and 80km routes has raised over $50,000 in just four years.
