Although this particular site is not open to the public, we who live near this lady are privy to a very special treat. Nestled in the small enclave of perfect little cottages at West Shore Village, built exclusively for seniors, is one of Port Perry’s wonderful surprises. A young lady, June Lister, “early 80’s going on 5 years” to quote her as she grins mischievously, holds the key to her happiness as she surrounds herself with memories - her kids call it “stuff!” We of a similar age group, divest ourselves of anything that complicates our day and our space - just to make life easier. Not Miss June! She envelops herself in wondrous things, changing them around and dusting each one with precious loving care. There is a stone wishing well with a little cardinal warbling his song as you pass by in the foyer. You really do feel compelled to sneak in a wish as you pass into a never-never land. So many things to see, your eyes don’t know where to look first! Young or old, one is mesmerized by the myriad of memorabilia. A replica of a little gray man lolling in a chair on the floor, he watches your every movement as you carefully make your way into this wonderful museum. There isn’t one empty space throughout the entire A Mini Memory Museum!
