Committee Chair Leanne Ashbridge said it best. “The committee has been working hard all year to see that the 10th version of this fine evening was a special one and we succeeded in a big way. The feel in the room was electric and the speeches were heartfelt. Now we have to top that with next year’s event. And we will. We are working on it already.” The evening featured a funny and moving speech by keynote speaker Brian McFarlane. Mr. McFarlane also min- gled with the attendees and signed numerous autographs. MC Jordan Mercier did his usual pro- fessional job and the speeches by the inductees told us all we need to know as to why these athletes now occupy a special place in the Hall. A special 5-minute video was shown at the start of the evening celebrating the 10th year for the Hall. This video will also be available in the Hall for viewing at any time. There were over 200 in attendance and all would agree this has become a must see event on the calendar. The committee was thrilled with the silent auction, which raised over $1,600 for the Hall. If you want to nominate someone you feel is worthy of induction, just go to the Township of Scugog website at http://www.scugog.ca to fill out the nomination forms. Take the time to visit the Hall. You might be surprised at the deep history of sport in the Scugog area.
