Now there’s also 11 grandchildren. Robert had various jobs to support his family, but worked primarily as a truck driver. The Healeys are well known for being involved in sports in the local community. “We had a full life,” Marion says. “We were lucky!” Now a resident of Port Perry’s West Shore Village, Marion treasures memorabilia from her courtship with Robert during the war. She has saved all of the sentimental letters and post cards, photographs and war medals. One of her daughters had the street dance ticket framed, to mark the childhood sweethearts’ first date.
