Visitors to the mid-week event can expect warm, small town hospitality. All things agriculture will be celebrated. “Our fair is an old-fashioned, country experience,” commented Fair Secretary Patricia Sheppard. “It’s unique and reflective of the people of Sunderland.” The fair will showcase cow milking, egg candling, light and heavy horse shows, 4-H beef and dairy calf shows, rabbits and cavies, and the popular pet show for kids. The displays of antique cars and vintage tractors, the Horse Pull and the Demo Derby, all draw enthusiastic crowds. In addition to the popular midway, kids can participate in fun games such as sack races, and racing with eggs on spoons. Come out to see the mini therapy ponies and the border collie sheep herding demonstration. View beautiful quilts, pho- tography and art. The finest vegetables and flowers from local gardens will be on display. There’s baking and woodworking, and more. Don’t miss the Sunderland Legion Line Dancers or the Salem Alpacas. Milk a goat! Take a ride on the ferris wheel! Autumn Harvest is the theme for entries in the parade, and for the contests for the best decorated homes and businesses promoting the 2016 fair.
