The Golden Gallery, at 10 Oyler Dr., displays Jasmine’s creations, as well as her talented friends’ paintings and photography. When Jasmine participated in the BrockYouthCentrePitchCompetition for young entrepreneurs, she de- scribed her dream of starting a local gallery for young artists, and that’s what Golden Gallery is all about. A spacious, well lit venue, visitors are greeted by Jasmine and Charles, the cat with the lion tail. It’s an aesthetic feast for the eyes. There’s been lots of help along the way in her art career, Jasmine says. “Sometimes I come home and there are are a couple of rusted shovels propped up by the door from anonymous donors,” says Jasmine. She’s “so appreciative.” One customer who wanted a special design, brought in their Grandpa’s old shovel head, which Jasmine enhanced with a daisy motif, a family favourite flower, in his memory.
