On these combined properties Davis built his home on the western portion and his cabinetmakers shop and funeral parlour on the east side. Today it still continues to serve the community as a funeral home Wagg Funeral Home. John W. Davis died in 1898 at the age of 75. His wife Elizabeth died four years later. Their son Albert J. Davis established a drug store di- agonally across the road in 1880. This unusual document is not for sale. Items like this should stay in the community Marilyn says. She plans to give the document to the Scugog Archives So that it can be avail- able to anyone interested in our early history she says.
