We all support one another. So while each home is a private resi- dence the people who live at Canterbury Common never have to feel all alone. Social Activity The Community Centre is a beehive of social activity geared to appeal to peo- ple with varied interests. Theres bridge euchre mahjong cribbage poker and ballroom dancing. The power walking group sets out at 810 a.m. and the Knit Wits regularly meet to have fun knitting together. Friday nights are special social evenings for widows who sometimes feel uncomfortable when its all couples David pointed out. Interesting speakers are invited to the Thursday morning Coee Hours. Fashion shows and productions by the Canterbury Common Players are very popular. The public is wel- come to the giant annual Yard Sale planned for May 7 2016. Theres so many dierent types of social activity David enthused. Born in Windsor David has lived in large centres all over Canada including London Halifax Niagara Falls and Oshawa. He always dreamed about settling in a small town like the little agricultural community where his cousins lived when they were all children. Canterbury Common is like a lovely little village all onto itself tucked into the historic and charm- ing lakeside town of Port Perry which oers so many amenities. Its a great place to live David concluded. Professional Ballroom Dancers Bonnie and Bill Silvera also residents of Canterbury Common initially taught all those wanting to learn two ballroom dances the Social Foxtrot and the International Slow Waltz. Bridge anyone If you dont play bridge there are many other activities mentioned in the story.
