b'The Bailies reside in Little Britain, so Syd stayed for the three-hour meeting instead of going home and back again to pick him up. The program piqued her interest, and she ended up getting involved herself. Its your baby, describes her supportive husband Mark, who has been known to roll up his sleeves to help with shelves, or cook a turkey dinner for 150 people, or look after the boys while Syd is away with the cadets.International travel for cadets is still on hold due to the lingering pandemic, but in the past they have enjoyed free trips to Banff, Scotland and Korea, to name a few destinations. Also in the past, Syd has taken them to Quebec and Niagara for a weekend. She didnt have to remind them to keep their rooms neat so they could go to swim in the pool, she recalls.Again, all of these excursions are free of charge, in-cluding hotels and meals. These are opportunities that some kids wouldnt get at home, Syd pointed out.Her sons Connor, Liam and Jared enthusiastically fol-lowed in Zacs footsteps by joining when they became of age. They agree that the program helped them become good adults. All four Bailie sons have been successful in their ca-reer paths, Syd noted proudly. She credits the program for helping her sons and other youth grow up to be fine people. Cpl.
