We are looking for creativity this year, either in the design of the creations or the way that they are decorated. To make the village authentic, we ask that the entries be made of gingerbread and please, no battery operated accessories. Anyone can submit an entry – there is no fee – and it is a non-judged event. Kits are welcome, but original designs are what make the village truly unique. So gather up all of the leftover Halloween candy and start baking! Bring your entry to the library Monday November 26th to Thursday November 29th inclusive, during operating hours. Each building should have a title and a registration form is available to be filled in. We accessorize so there are no extra elements required (such as figurines, trees, or battery operated decorations etc.). No idea how to make gingerbread? Stop by the library for a gingerbread recipe sheet. Then, make sure to come to the library during the holiday season, starting Saturday December 1st, to see the spectacular animated display! There is no admission fee. The Bakersville Animated Gingerbread Village runs until January 2nd during regular library hours.
