A DREAM COMES TRUE Rodd Foster, and his daughter Lynn, have invited their special friends The Good Brothers to perform two concerts at the Greenbank Church on September 15, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., in support of the Greenbank Church Accessibility Project. Rodd is a lifelong supporter of the Greenbank Church and is fondly known as ‘Mr. Mayor of Greenbank’. The Fosters and The Good Brothers have collaborated to make this an exciting and memorable launch to the fundraising campaign for the Accessibility Project. Greenbank Church has been an important part of the Greenbank Community since 1896 when the people of the community built the church. It was built and paid for, dedicated and put to use within one year. Much of the labour was donated with $6,000 being raised to cover the costs of building materials and furnishings. Throughout its life, the church has supported the com- munity as a meeting place for family and community events. The church continues to play a significant role in the Greenbank Community. Along with Sunday Service, weddings, baptisms, and funerals, the church hosts com- munity concerts, The Black Light Puppets, youth events, banquets, and the very popular Greenbank Beef Barbecue attended annually by approximately 1,000 people. Recently the issue of Accessibility was identified as an obstacle for some people who want to use the church. We have committed to raising $140,000 to facilitate the nec- essary changes to the building to make it accessible and welcoming to all people. This plan includes a lift from the ground floor to the upstairs sanctuary and accessible washrooms. For more information and tickets, call Susan at 905-985-4504 or email gucaccessibility@gmail.com Tickets are $35 per person.
