26 FOCUS - AUGUST 2018 You roll into downtown Port Perry on your bicycle, and lock it up safely in one of the new bike racks. You turn to go on your downtown shopping spree when a person in costume or a Theatre on the Ridge ticketed t-shirt officer, says, “Excuse me, but I have to give you a ticket”. At first, you are perplexed. But then you are very pleased. No, it’s not a parking ticket. It’s a ticket for doing something positive! It’s a ticket to reward you for cycling instead of driving a vehicle. It’s a free ticket to attend a local theatrical production, presented to you by an actor from Theatre on the Ridge. Surprise! TICKET TO RIDE Catching People Doing Something Right PICTURE THIS SCENE: Left: Hennie Plat was the first person to be ticketed by the Theatre on the Ridge. The ticketing t-shirts on this day were Director Carey Nicholson and some of the actors (who may on some occasions be in costume), including Demi-Lee Bainbridge, Duncan Gibson-Lockhart and in the back row, Matthew Delucia and Michael Williamson.
