The exhibit will in- clude 30 of the best photos in the past Museum of Nature’s annual contest and we would like to match those with the best we have from Port Perry photographers. So grab your cameras and show us what you can do! A garter snake extending its menacing, red, forked tongue.ABlack-crownedNight-Heronpoisedbesidebeau- tifully unfocussed turbulent water. A strikingly colourful stinkbug climbing a dew-spotted leaf. An endearingly soggy grizzly bear fishing for salmon. These are just some of the beautiful photos we will have on display. Canadian Geographic organized the exhibit in partnership with the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Alliance of Natural History Museums of Canada (ANHMC). Judges selected the top photos from close to 3,800 entries. So now it’s your turn Port Perry. Show us your favourite animals, birds, in- sects, in black and white or colour. The only requirement is that all photos must be of wild animals in their natural habitat. There will be two separate categories for adult photographers and for those 14 years of age and under. You can upload your photos to our gallery at www. scugogshoresmuseum.com or email them to museum@ scugog.ca. We will be judging from all entries received before August 31st, 2016. All chosen entries will be noti- fied by September 9th and invited to our grand opening event on Sunday September 18th from 1-3 p.m. The Heritage Centre is on the 2nd floor of the Scugog Community Centre, 1655 Reach St., Port Perry. Regular hours: Tuesday – Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 pm. Admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for Students and Seniors, $2.00 for Children 5-12.
